• VI International Meeting of the Latin American Society for Developmental Biology (LASDB)
(April 26-29, 2012; Radisson Victoria Plaza Hotel. Montevideo, Uruguay)
Following the success of the previous five meetings in Chile, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina, the LASDB is pleased to announce its forthcoming sixth meeting to be held in Montevideo, Uruguay. This time the meeting will be centered on topics in evolutionary developmental biology (Evo-Devo), and will have the participation of leading international researchers in the field, including Nicole Le Douarin, Walter Gehring, Eric Davidson, Michael Levine, Eddy De Robertis, and Claudio Stern, among others. As in the last three LASDB meetings, the event will be preceded by a 10-day practical course on “Mechanisms of Organismal Evolution: Complementing classical experiments with systems Biology and Bioinformatics.”

  • The IV International Symposium in Developmental Biology will be held from the 16th to 18th of November at Taubaté, São Paulo.

The main aim of this Symposium is to increase the interaction amongst members of our growing DB community and with international researchers and to foster the growth of this fascinating field in the Brazilian scientific scenario. For this version of the symposium our program broaches subareas that are representative of the major current topics in Developmental Biology. We will have sessions on Invertebrate Development, Organogenesis, Plant Development and Evo-Devo. We have also planned for two workshops: a workshop mirrored on the Society of Developmental Biology´s widely successful Bootcamp program that targets Grant Writing and Teaching and another workshop in the cutting edge technology in Bioinformatics processing. There will be no concurrent sessions, as the main idea is that all the participants can be exposed to all the talks. Thus, we hope to generate stimulating discussion forums that will contribute towards making this meeting a success of scientific communication. The preliminary program is available by clicking "PROGRAMAÇÃO" in the menu on the right
